Bernard Seifert

Born in 1955, he began studying birds in 1966 and ants in 1978. He earned his PhD in ant ecology from the University of Leipzig in 1985. From 1981 to 2021, he served as Head of the Entomology Section at the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz. His fieldwork includes notable expeditions to the Central Asian mountains (2000–2001) and the Tibetan Plateau (2011). Since retiring in 2022, he has continued his scientific research at the Senckenberg Museum under his previous working conditions.
